All you need to know to find a place to park in Ronda
What a great decision you have made to come to our city! When visiting Ronda, Spain it is possible to arrive via bus or train, however, renting a car is also an excellent idea as Ronda’s surrounding area has plenty to offer. For example, if you’re visiting Ronda for a few days, we would recommend going to the nearby archaeological site of Acinipo. To help your trip go smoothly, here is some advice on where to park in Ronda!
Driving and knowing where to park in Ronda can be a bit tricky, especially if you are unsure of where you are going or if you are driving a large 4×4! The winding roads and narrow streets are all part of the attraction of this small cultural and historic town; however, they can also be rather difficult to navigate. In the old town, many streets are one way or have tight corners and the majority have parking reserved for residents with permits. So, keep an eye out for road signs!
There are a few insider tips that may be helpful for you to know. Firstly, be sure to keep an eye out for yellow lines on the curb as you cannot park there and also remember that blue lines (rare in Ronda) could signify paid, metered parking. Secondly, watch out for garages and make sure you don’t block them if you don’t want your car to be towed away!
But it is not all doom and gloom! The good thing is that many hotels have their own parking, for example, El Parador, Hotel Catalonia Reina Victoria and Hotel Maestranza. At the least, most hotels will have a loading bay nearby where you can unload your bags. If your hotel does not have parking or if you are only visiting for one day, then you have many other options for you to choose from to park in Ronda.
Paid Parking
If you are feeling a bit cautious of where to park in Ronda, Spain, then one of the many paid private carparks may be the best option for you as you can add the address to your satnav and most are well signposted. The cost of parking varies, however, two carparks with low rates are: Parking Martinez Astein, in the north of the city, and Parking Plaza del Socorro, right in the city centre.
Both of these carparks are underground, however in Calle Lauria, in the heart of Ronda, Spain you will also find a raised area of relatively cheap parking where you can pay in advance for the amount of time you need on the parking meter. If you enter the town from the South, then paid parking in Plaza Duquesa de Parcent is a convenient yet expensive option as it is located right next to the city council, in the historical part of the city, close to bars, restaurants and the path down to the viewpoint of the gorge.

- Parking El Castillo (Plaza Duqueza de Parcent) – €2.20/hour or €18.15/day
Free Parking
If entering Ronda from the North, you have a few more options. For example, if you are happy to walk a little into town then you can park in the area around the train station (RENFE) for free, however, be sure to keep an eye out for restrictions as mentioned above. You may find yourself driving around for a while before finding a free space, especially if trying to park between 13:30 and 16:00.
If you are entering Ronda from the South and are looking for free options to park in Ronda, then you may be able to find a space in the San Francisco area, for example down Calle San Francisco or Calle Prado. However, it is best to avoid lunch and dinner time because there are many bars in this area and many locals gather here to eat. This is a great area to park in Ronda, as you can then start your walking tour up through the Almocabar gate, which used to be the entrance to the old town. Remember you can visit our city on foot, no car is needed once in town!
